Straight-Rail Stacker Crane

A straight-aisle stacker crane uses a travel motor that drives wheels via a drive shaft to move horizontally along a lower guide rail. A lifting motor drives the loading platform vertically via a chain, and the forks on the loading platform extend and retract. Through these three-dimensional movements, goods can be retrieved from or moved into designated storage locations. A travel addresser controls the horizontal movement of the stacker crane; a lifting addresser controls the lifting position of the loading platform. Computer control is achieved through addressers, photoelectric identification, and the conversion of optical communication signals. Manual and semi-automatic control via the onboard control panel is also possible.

Curved Track

When the stacker crane transfers to another aisle to retrieve or deposit goods, the upper computer, controlled by the PLC, sets the turning mechanism of this aisle (both upper and lower turning mechanisms simultaneously) to a state where the curved track is connected to the longitudinal stacker crane’s upper and lower tracks at the rear of the automated storage and retrieval system. The turning tracks of other aisles are disconnected from the longitudinal stacker crane’s upper and lower tracks at the rear of the system. The stacker crane runs along the track to the longitudinal track and passes the aisle it is going to. At this point, the turning mechanism of this aisle is disconnected from the curved track and connected to the guide rail of the aisle. The stacker crane then reverses into this aisle, completing the transfer.

Overload Capacity

The stacker crane’s load capacity is not less than 10T. The stacker crane type selected is a four-column, ground-supported type. Its running track is laid on the ground, and the stacker crane is supported and driven by wheels at the bottom. Upper guide wheels are used to prevent the stacker crane from tipping or swaying. The four-column structure effectively distributes the load, reducing structural deformation caused by unbalanced forces.
